Noisebox v4

 

Finished a new spring Noisebox, an instrument that makes a variety of sounds and percussion for noise, experimental, ambient, and industrial genres of music. This new version includes improvements to box design, adding metal bowl, better placement of springs, some new metal, and has a 3 mic piezo pickup inside for recording and pedals. The metal bowl adds new sound material, such as dropping, stirring and tapping with coins or rocks. This version has also been painted and sealed with gloss varnish. This box will be used for a new sample pack that will contain the raw audio, processed dry and processed wet samples for noise, ambient and experimental music.  

 

 

Here is my setup for recording samples with the NoiseBox. I have the box running into the SP-404 for effects, then into the MSL Valyrian reverb pedal, and finally going into my computer with the Motu M4. I used foam and glue on the piezo mics to cut back on the highs. The bass is really good on this version.
